Egyptian Mythology
Disclaimer

Mythology, whether they are found in literature, arts and religion, is dynamic, and can change from period to period, from place to place, or from author to author. They can go through a series of evolution, so that one source may differ from other sources, leading to contradictions, to a completely different version of the myths.

I've tried to follow each source that I can find, and retell or summarise the myths as accurately as I can, but in my own words. I've tried to remain faithful as possible on the sources that I have used. I am not trying to write a novel, where I can adapt or invent freely; I am only interested in providing people information about these myths. There are bound to be contradiction of any myth, from knowledge to yours. Just because they are different doesn't mean I am wrong, or you are wrong; we have just found different sources.

Secondly, Myths of the Sands do not provide full texts or translations of mythological literature. I will some quote from certain passages, but I will mainly retell myths in my own words. Egyptian and most Near Eastern mythology have the tendency to repeat themselves, over and over again, so the advantage of reading myths at this site, is to avoid repetitive passages.

Thirdly, I can only read English; I have to rely on texts that have been translated into English. I can't read any other languages. I am no expert in language, so I am the wrong person to ask about pronounciation of names or foreign words.

Lastly, I may a lot of grammar errors, especially with tense in verbs. Although, English is my first language, my early years with the subject had been generally poor, due to my struggle with hearing impairment. Please forgive me, if you encounter any errors.
